Dr Kelechi Amarachi was born on the 22^nd of March several years ago at Abayi-Amaugwu, Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area of Abia state.

She lived her early life in Aba, where she had her nursery and primary education. She attended Immaculate Heart Nursery School, Umungasi, Aba.  after which she proceeded to Owerri Road Primary School, Umuocham, Aba. Following her outstanding academic prowess her father decided to change her school to the then Imo State University School Abayi, Aba where she finished as the best graduating  and the best behaved pupil. She thereafter attended Federal Government Girls’ College, Langtang Plateau State where she did JSS1. She completed her secondary education at Federal Government Girls’ College, Calabar  Cross River State. She graduated with an excellentresult and immediately gained admission into the prestigious University of Port-Harcourt, Rivers State to study Medicine and Surgery.

She distinguished herself as a hardworking and intelligent student and completed her degree in flying colours.

Thereafter, she was immediately admitted to do her housemanship at the Federal Medical Centre Umuahia. She gave back to the fatherland by performing the mandatory National Youth Service at the Primary Health Centre, Ojodu-Berger, Ogun state where she served as the only medical doctor catering for the whole community. As a conscientious personality, Dr. Enyi-Nwafor was noticed by a senior colleague, during her housemanship, who recommended her for a job at Healing Cross Hospital, Nkata, Ibeku, Umuahia. She took up this job after NYSC, as a medical officer and worked closely with the late medical giant Prof A. U. Mbanaso of blessed memory. She worked there till she got married.

Dr. Enyi-Nwafor, with the zeal to improve her knowledge and practice of medicine commenced postgraduate medical training in the department of Anaesthesia, Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital Nnewi, Anambra state. She also had additional training at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital Benin City, Edo State. Currently she practices as an anaesthetist at the Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care, National Hospital Abuja.

Outside professional circles, Dr. K. A. Enyi-Nwafor is a dutiful wife and mother. She is happily married to Engr. Sir. Enyinnaya  Chima Nwafor and they are blessed with five children. She is a co-founder of the Each One Aid One foundation, a foundation which has made immense contribution to the society.

Dr. K.A. Enyi-Nwafor is a devout Christian of the Anglican Communion. She has bagged several academic, professional and humanitarian awards for her contribution towards the church, thecommunity and her profession.
