Medical Services – Each One Aid One Foundation
EACH ONE AID ONE FOUNDATION

Medical Services

Our medical services are majorly two pronged
1. Payment of medical bills for indigent patients
2. Mobile medical outreach programmes targeting rural communities

Payment of Medical Bills

Hundreds of cottage hospitals, Primary Health Centres and Secondary Hospitals across our villages hold indigent patients hostage for inability to pay for medical supplies and treatments. The Foundation visits some of these hospitals across the 17 LGAs to offset these bills incurred by some indigent patients.

Budget

Given financial constraints, we usually budget a maximum of N5m (Five Million Naira) annually for these services.

Our Mission

To reach out to inhabitants of underserved communities who suffer various inhibitions associated with poverty, lack and deprivation

How they are Selected

Our Team of Health Experts are at will to randomly select these hospitals to visit. We depend on their professional advice for the priority of which of the patients would be attended to. However, consideration must be given to degree of indigence, availability of funds and need.

Achievement

From the 17th of December, 2017 when we made the first attempt to offset medical bills, The Foundation has reached an estimated 600 patients across 17 LGAs of Abia State, committing nearly N20m in the processes.

Urban Intervention

There are indigent patients across the various Secondary and Tertiary Health institutions in the State. Periodically, in a frequency of about three times in a year, our Team visits the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia and the Abia State University Teaching Hospital, Aba to offset medical bills of several indigent patients using our already established criteria. Given the severity and complexity of ailments in these category of hospitals, The Foundation has invested nearly N20m across six years.

Mobile Medical Service

In Abia State, the over 70% population that dwell in rural areas hardly have access to quality medicare for either their non availability or lack of funds to access these medical services.

The Service

The Foundation has in place a functional Ambulance and utility vehicles with the terrain of these communities in mind. Unless there is any form of outbreak, our Team of Medical Experts (Doctors, Nurses, Medical Laboratory Scientists and Paramedics) select beneficiary communities at random.

In collaboration with relevant government agencies, traditional rulers and Town Union Heads, The Foundation mounts our mobile clinic at designated centres in any choice community. Rural dwellers are offered routine medical checks with the accompanying medical supplies. Where physical examinations indicate major health conditions, The Foundation refers such patients with a follow up to foot the ensuing medical bills.
